You don't seem to know anything beyond what you hear from your left wing extremist opinion writers. The vast majority of deaths in custody are from natural causes which actually makes those numbers even more significant when you consider the poor state of health of many indigenous and particularly those addicted to drugs and alcohol who no doubt make up a lot of those incarcerated. The next most significant cause of death is due to self harm. I think third highest cause of death was at the hands of other inmates. These are the same for all prisoners, indigenous or not.
How many indigenous lives are actually saved by incarceration? In jail they receive state of the art medical care, they jump the queues for medical treatments, the state does everything it can to ensure they don't become another statistic(even as a natural death statistic). How many of them would have died if they weren't put in jail?
