I was hoping they'd consider going down the LWD route for formation testing on M2 considering the hole issues they had on M1.
Using the Stethoscope would mean committing to using Slb for all LWD services. Costs and tool availability would also be issues..stethoscope tools are thin on the ground. It looks like IVZ have chosen to run a very basic LWD service on M2 and focus on wireline as their primary log data gathering operation.
Gathering pressures using the Stethoscope and then using the MDT for sampling would mean a bit less time in the hole with the MDT...but on an MDT run the amount of time spent at pressure points is small compared to the time spent on sampling operations. While actual filling of the chambers takes minutes its the pumping out prior to sampling at each station that burns up most of the time in the hole....you'll often spend hours on stations that take a long time to clean up.
