I find the logarithmic increase of a tax effect a little trifling.
The post started with need to "understand the mining sector" and finished with generalized p/e ratios with nothing in between.
Since this forum is general - I will keep my post thus ...
There is FAR too much crying (from everyone) about the RSPT and not enough analytical effort.
As investors - we should remain unemotionally objective about the tax and invest accordingly.
For those that were surprised by this - I like the fact you ignore Colin Barnett - but he has been warning about this for months.
This post doesn't reflect my political view - I just don't care about politics when I invest.
