My latest top ups were in April after the announcement that Harvest Lane management became a substancial shareholder and in June after an AFR article talked about a possible M&A.
I started building a position in MEC two years ago as part of my "consolidation in the LIC sector" theme.
MEC has been one of my trouble child but thanks to recent events I'm back in the black (without taking into account dividends).
Now I'm torn between sitting back and collecting fully franked dividends or bailing out while I'm ahead.
MEC performance has been abysmal compared to the index. But global small caps in general have been hit hard.
We could see this year a reversal of the trend.
