Further to my post…there is a bit of relevance
…..To use the Long March as a comparative muse (https://www.history.com/topics/long-march); the actual statistic numbers varies since it is now embedded into the Chinese Communist's mythology and the winner gets to rewrite history, but the march was a costly one. The Long March took over a year to complete, started with 85,000 troops traversed over 4 thousand miles of land and water, and only 8,000 survived. In my own philosophical opinion the cost to innovation is relatively comparative to the Long March (but no one actual dies, please!) We can understand when faced with this thousand miles challenge death by paralysis might be not a bad alternative. An organization that succeeds in innovation transformation requires strong leadership, a steadfast belief in the end state, and the willingness to take steps that results in actions.
