I am going to be a bit hopeful here.
A submission by Boeing to the FAA for use of CVM technology at the APB and submitted with the results of their testing against corrosion and what ever else they might be examining should allow- and here is the hopeful bit - the FAA to allow free reign of use of CVM wherever Boeing choose to locate it - ie without individual location applications. And why not? If Boeing comes up with a new style of fastener that would be used in multiple locations Boeing certainly won't want to go back to the FAA for every new fastener location. So why not CVM?
I imagine Boeing do have some clout with the FAA to help such an approach over the line.
Hopefully
