Carrick is an anglicisation of Carraig, the Irish word for rock, during Cromwellian times under Penal Laws, Priests were banned from saying mass, so the congregations would meet in remote locations, hillsides etc, and mass would be held in the open air generally using a rock as an altar, there would be a few scouts on the lookout for British soldiers. & the last of the full circle of stones is that there are on shorage of rocks in a quarry.
Praise the Lord; it's beer o'clock.
