If I was RT and I was looking for acquisition opportunities, I'd be downplaying it also. It actually makes me more suspicious that they are more or less ruling it out. Even a whiff of a rumour of a potential acquisition would send share prices up like a rocket. Better to appear disinterested if you want to pick up a junior at an affordable price.
