the issue is Toyota has led the Japanese auto market off a cliff by dragging their feet on EVs (look at their rubbish on solid state, or resource limitations they have been touting for years). ICE sales will stagnate and then how will they fund transition? They will go bankrupt or consolidate to be a shell of their former self imho.
