In case you missed the absolute gem from that article:
"The Nature Conservation Society's main argument against the mine has been that the company is seeking permission for one mine and not all four. "
One paragraph later:
"Since the company does not report the effects of the other projects, the Land and Environment Court cannot take a position on the overall effect of the projects, according to the Nature Conservation Association."
By their own admission, but perhaps lacking some nuance, they're aware their main argument can't be tested in court. I won't speak for the other appeals, but if there's any to be least concerned about then it's this one! IMO
