Thats exactly what Splitit says it does.
And if your bank releases the funds immediately when Splitit requests the credit release (instead of days later) you will have only the new, lower outstanding amount held.
Splitit therefore needs close to 2x the purchase price in available credit free before your next installment date or it can not reserve the remaining amount and therefore can not release the current amount.
Not the target consumer.
Not the best with banks with long "release" periods as it shows as what can be viewed as a double amount on peoples statements for longer than it should.
Amazon pay on delivery is a different kettle of fish.
