    I'm a slow learner.
If you have acres of grass to mow and you also have a lot of trees, a perennial problem is picking up the tree fall ie sticks that are always shed by trees but especially in a period of constant winds.
You have to pick up the larger ones because they can get into your mower belts and break them and they're expensive to replace.
Up till yesterday, I would walk around and pick them up by hand which means bending down all the time and getting a sore back.
But the penny finally dropped. I got one of those picking up devices for people with a bad back, which are extendable to some extent, and went around with that. Works like a dream.
No more bad back, not from that anyway.

For my next trick I'm going to find a way to put a piece of bended tube on the end of the blower fir cleaning leaves out of the gutter.
