That makes sense, it would be a just reward to receive a special dividend made up of milestone payments.
And how does receiving stock from the buyer affect capital gains discounts? For example, if someone bought six months before the takeover bid was completed, is that 6 months included in the 12 month holding requirement to gain the capital gains 50% tax discount on the new shares?
I assume it is as I don’t consider it a CGT event.
