Yes the potential road degradation is a big issue for all materials handing operations. There may need to be a change to axle configurations or total load limits to ensure best load distributions. The proposed 50 ton pay loads may be the concern unless extra dolly axles are able to be used. It not an issue so long as the weight distribution is within the legal limits for each road being used, otherwise specific permits will be required.
The company will ultimately respond to any ongoing concerns with custom trailer configurations for the permanent fleet. May just need to reduce payloads to 40 ton while existing standard trailers are being used for the dso and production ramp up.
