Look, no doubt their cost will come down, but will they ever be cheap and cheerful? Will there ever be an EV equivalent to an MG3?
$20k drive away band new, 600km range (funny how we never used to talk about range), fill the tank in under 5 minutes.
As it stands right now (and this is quoting your article) the current retail price of a medium-sized EV is €33,300 (AU$52,026) compared to a same-sized, petrol-powered car for €18,600 (AU$29,066).
And governments "rapidly turning over" their fleets is such a ridiculous strategy, if it is in fact happening.
It's expensive for the tax payer, and turning over cars like they are consumables is horrific for the environment.
Government fleets should be held for 200 000km imo. I've always thought that since even before EVs were a thing.
