As at Friday 21 July 1020 AEST, this container ship is off the coast of NSW, between Maclean and Ballina, so it hasn't even reached Brisbane, despite supposedly (even with an amended, delayed schedule by the liner's owner) having been due to berth at Brisbane on Wednesday 19 July at 1800 hours in the early evening.
In about 17 days since the owner issued the delay notice, the ship has 'lost' another two days compared to its revised timetable.
Just hopeless, and this is by no means an isolated occurrence for importers and exporters reliant on the sea container trade given air freight is not an option for the vast majority of freight.
While landbridging can be costly, delays in the shipping trades are frustrating and can be unpredictable.
I don't believe 'Mr Markert' understands this, just like so many analysts don't consider the local weather for agricultural stocks like GNC.
