As many have alluded to, technically anything is possible. I can think up of at least 3 EW patterns, one bullish, one bearish and one sideways for a number of years. Not really surprising. Other long term technical indicators can be used to point to the same conclusions. Take your pick. That's why I rather look for something not well used and somewhat outside the TA world. That's where phil_jacquelyn comes in. You are spot on. I've looked at the birth rate of the US, China and Australia a couple of years ago and found something interesting. They all point to the same thing at roughly the same timing. We've now reached a point where the problems of a retiring and/or aging population are starting to bite. It's no surprise in the UK, US and here they are extending the retirement age. They can't do it forever. What do they expect? A retirement age at 90? However, even this doesn't completely rule out even one more bull market. I suspect US, UK, Japan and UK would love to see one. I do too but we must face realities not dreams. There's just too much debt and way too much wasted spending (including on wars). This can only mean a severe recession or a depression some time soon is more likely than not.

... just my 1 cent worth.
