As another example for anyone who would buy into this perma underperforming banking stock (WBC remains the least profitable of the 4 majors despite being the oldest bank), if you had bought it at or about 1 May 2023, and held for that month, then you are down about 12% capital loss. Did not predict it, nor wanting to remind anyone who did, but to emphasise that cherry picking of highly selective periods can serve any purpose.
