Any idea of what they called our country before White Cloud people turned up and started throwing around names like Van Demons Land, New Holland and Australia? I can’t remember hearing any historical references as to what any of the tribes called this country before whitey arrived or that they considered any of the other tribes without a family link to be anything other than invader’s. Personally I’ve never spoken to anyone who identifies as aboriginal who doesn’t call themselves Australian so in my opinion, these people have accepted the fact that they are part of Australian culture. I think you’re onto something there, H. I won’t correct your spelling though, don’t want to sound too pedantic.

Newsflash mate....Aboriginals have a different culture than European Australia, and yes they are still Australian as you rightly point out. oh oh...Perhaps thats just one reason why we're known as multi cultural Australia? Just a shame that the aboriginal culture is ignored and not tolerated by many. Thats Australia's ugly underbelly.
