Yes, but there's an incremental improvement - the maps have scale bars and locations on them and quelle surprise! a north arrow! Now all Chris has to do is to learn to use QGis (it's free Chris, so there's no outrageous licence fees that preclude purchase of bikkies for the tearoom this year) and we may have some professional illustrations.
However, the (*ahem*) Announcement lacks contextual analysis. (*Hint*) How's about using stat functions on QGis (or even Excel, if ya can use that) to provide basic statistical analysis (ya know, maximum, minimum, mean, standard deviation and if ya really wants to get fancy, logarithmic probability graphs for each element).
Ooooh! The sample locations provide a really good map of da tracks south of Charlies Trousers! No need for that pesky gridding here! No need to get out of the charabanc! Might be snakes - health and safety ya know, can't be too cautious. And the anomalous samples coincide with old workings on the GeoResGlobe dataset! We've just added to the wealth of geological knowledge. Circa 1890.
