I’m quite sure my ex chose me and reflects on that from time to time. Hoping for the best ? Yes. Hoping for a house from a position of debt on his own account, access to a social level he could not achieve on his own and for a very comfortable retirement. we never know what goes on in a relationship and why we get sucked in.
what I do know is that relationships are complicated and we should never conflate the individuals. what they are together is not the sum of the parts or a reflection of the other.
