that treatment sounds correct but I wouldnt worry about the P&L this year as they announced a huge profit from deferred tax liability changes that would swallow any small writeoffs such as this......I suspect they may "kitchen sink" some further writeoffs this year to get the balance sheet in better shape, because they have this profit shield from the tax consolidation changes...
