Industry Day #2 – Acquisition of High-Assay Low-EnrichedUranium (HALEU)

This is a noticethat the U.S. Department of Energy (Department or DOE), Office of NuclearEnergy (NE), intends to hold an Industry Day on August 8th, 2023, at 8:00 AMEDT related to its anticipated action to acquire HALEU. The Department isseeking additional dialog with industry on potential procurement activities toacquire high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) in response to the feedbackreceived to the HALEU Enrichment draft-RFP (Draft-RFP #89243223RNE000031) andHALEU Deconversion draft-RFP (Draft-RFP #89243223RNE000033). The Departmentintends for this to be an opportunity to communicate how it intends to addresstopics identified in the responses received to the Enrichment and Deconversiondraft-RFPs and potential paths forward.

Virtual attendancewill be open to those who wish to attend, utilizing Microsoft Teams. In-personattendance will be limited to those that submitted responses to either of theHALEU Enrichment and Deconversion draft-RFPs referenced above. Furthermore,one-on-ones will be conducted after the general session for respondents to theabove-referenced draft-RFPs which the DOE has determined that furtherclarification is required based on the entities' responses. Specificinvitations for one-on-ones will be sent individually. Industry Day will beheld at the offices of the Nuclear Energy Institute at 1201 F. St., NW, Suite1100, in Washington D.C.

Attendance, bothvirtual and in-person, requires registration. Attendees must submit thefollowing information to [email protected] on or before 5 pm (EDT), August 5,2023:

This Industry Dayis for information and planning purposes only; it is not to be construed as acommitment by the Government, nor is it a condition for submitting a responsiveproposal. This announcement is not a solicitation (as defined by FAR 2.101),and the Government is not requesting offers or proposals at this time. Thisnotice does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service.Participants are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for anyinformation or administrative or travel costs incurred in participation in thisevent. No responses to this notice will be accepted to form a binding contract.If a solicitation is issued, the Government does not guarantee that it will beissued to participants of this event.

Target Audience

Industry Day willbe open those that wish to attend via virtual attendance, utilizing MicrosoftTeams. Potential offerors and contributing members of the nuclear fuel supply chain are encouraged to attend.

DOE does not intend to publicly postquestions related to this Notice of Intent.
