Not sure it will this time, the reason the USA was down was because of the rating downgrade. It was released Tuesday after the USA markets closed, so Aust. got to trade with the bad news yesterday, hence why the market was down yesterday. In theory the drop in the USA last night was already baked into the ASX yesterday.
But then it is the market, which is bonkers most of the time, so who knows!
