    Hello DavidCasey and TFHN,

CXY and UCG have been unfairly, perhaps corruptly attacked this week. This needs investigation. This post may seem off topic, however due to the events just witnessed it is on topic as well.

I see you two fine cyber people clashing due to your own personal experience. I would invite you both without hesitation (perhaps not the same night). My wife is in a public service job and also works very hard. I see and I hear and I agree with Davids defense completely.

TFHN has a point however he is off the mark on some of his post IMO because he generalized - and missed the cause and real point. It is easy to get emotive when you risk your capital as we all do in shares so I don't blame you for one minute TFHN. It seems you have had bad experience and are justified to have a negative opinion.

I also run a business with my own risk capital and once lost my house trying to start a spring water company. In the private sector you don't get to put your hand out for a weekly pay packet if you do a bad job or if something goes wrong that is not of your control.

It is unbelievably hard out here in the commercial world and all public servants should have some of this type of experience, in an ideal world, it would change some of their attitudes. When it is not the overbearing red tape to deal with you have to protect yourself against your competitors and deal with finance issues - the list goes on I sometimes wonder why I have taken this route. This is where TFHN is coming from.

We have to run on our wits and work crazy hours at times but that is the price we pay to escape intolerable (for me anyway) management structure and bureaucratic politics.

    REAL PROBLEM:
It is the misuse of power where in "some" cases you get vexatious or obstructive regulation - or even worse, in this case apparent industrial sabotage for the sake of some hidden agenda.
Orders come down from the top or somewhere in the (mis)management chain and the poor public servant in the middle has to administer the bad authority. This is suppressive corruption in its worst form and totally unacceptable.
We need a task force from the private sector to investigate this type of abuse and make those responsible totally accountable - self regulation never works due to cronieism.

There are good and bad public servants the same as in business. The problem is that when you cop a bad regulator it is very hard to get around them due to the system - not enough accountability and you HAVE to deal with them instead of just going to another business to get what you need. IN OTHER WORDS THE PUBLIC SERVICE IS A MONOPOLY.

Be nice to each other we should not be divided and conquered. You are BOTH right.

Very best conciliatory regards and respect for both viewpoints.
    CW
