You obviously aren't familiar with any of the media companies on the ASX. Or Fortescue. Or a bunch of coal miners with significant holders. If you have a significant stake you get a say. If you don't like it you can sell.
At least with AGL you're now invested in a profitable one. Before he got involved it was all headed for a split and a fire sale.
