I think, like the rest of us SOL went into the relationship with Aeris with the best intentions. And yes SOL are shrewd operators whilst Aeris has barely been able to get out of its own way. The constant operational misses and quarterly cash burn would have worn thin and if not soured the relationship, atleast gave rise to concern for SOL to want to protect their investment.
I think SOL have seen this $50m placement as an opportunity to both double down on their investment and completely derisk their investment in one swoop.
No matter what happens now, SOL is in the box seat and their investment in Aeris is more than safe.
