Gary Johns, former ALP senator , in his book " Burden of Culture" estimates that 80% of aborigines are equivalent to most Australians in terms of economic well-being. So it is only the 20% that these programmes are designed for.
Think Jacinta Price is right when she calls for an audit of these organisations to see if we are getting value for money. Suspect that most of it is being wasted on bureaucracy.
Until we work out why these existing programs aren't working and achieving what they are designed to achieve, why set up another one through the voice.
