On the other hand, the income tax position is not clear to me. I am unsure how Brazilian Income Tax paid by KAR would be treated in Australia and whether the dividends would be treated as franked. Maybe someone on this forum is well informed on the subject but it doesn't appear that there is a tax treaty between Australia and Brazil which may mean no franking credits.
