Really?
Basically, I think it is difficult to make P/E calculations for developments that are still 5 years away.
It was also not me who used these calculations, but, asxDragonslayer, Rob23 and you.
I merely pointed out the reality and then you say it's not particularly relevant! To be honest, I don't think this is serious and it is dangerous to lie into your own pocket. The reality with long time producers is P/E ratios between 6 -7 despite exorbitant profits.Nasdaq listed companies generally have higher P/E ratios than ASX companies.
Albemarle, SQM as PLS have current huge expansion plans for their production in the coming years. This is what I call real growth rates and you have referred to this dependency yourself.
Allow me to ask you a modest question.
Why should the market grant Argosy Minerals, of all companies, a higher P/E ratio in 5 years with stable production than the current market leaders with their expansive production?
I now take the following conclusion of Rob23, which has not been disputed here, and put the reality:
10 x 50,084,000 USD / 1,600,000 = 0.313 USD
7 x 50.084.000 USD / 1.600.000 = 0,219 USD
Why do we analyze stocks? So that we can achieve an excess return. So it can make a lot of sense to pay attention to whether a company is currently valued low in its own historical average(which is very difficult for growth companies). However, the value driver of a valuation change is only a one-time play. Namely, when we manage to buy a stock with a cheap valuation, and the valuation subsequently moves back towards its historical average.
To be clear, this is not, no longer anymore, the case with AGY.
Ideally, we look for companies that manage to increase their earnings as much as possible in the future, that at the same time pay a high dividend and whose valuation is far below the historical average.
In reality, however, this idea usually remains wishful thinking.
DYOR
and have a nice evening
