taylor you say Having said that, employees have a right of association to a union. We have seen over the past 10 to 15 years a whittling down of the ability of unions to effectively represent employees for a number of reasons - thank you Mr Howard. ---------- sorry your arguement falls flat. 10-15 years ago we were either still in or recovering from a Hawke Keating/Keating government.Who was to blame there ?
We have had four years of the present government. How do you explain their lack of activity. If on he other hand they have fixed the problems then what are you now basing your arguement on ? Either they have done their job or not ?
The whittling down of union membership has had nothing to do with Howard what so ever. On the contrary,if things were so bad membership would have risen not decreased.
The fact is that membership has decreased as tghe lot of the average Aussie worker has improved so dramaticaly that they themselves dont find the previous need for them.
This has been well documented by both sides of government and unions themselves. Any other excuse is a cop out. Suggest you do some more research on the subject
