Supply chain constraints drives up costs and will naturally as I previously stated increase variable costs ..driving up final product prices leading to company collapse through a collapse in demand for their product because of higher pricing or without increasing prices they will go into bankruptcy as costs are not covered by sales.
It further states in the article that under protection of they are now reducing labour and cutting costs...simply it appears that supply side constraints have made their final pricing too high cutting demand .
The Article I will agree does not make it clear whether it is the supply side constraints or the industry Demand ...but the company has filed for bankruptcy protection and is going to cut labour costs and continue production...and I think that points to demand for their product...not a drop in Market demand .
In another article ..I quote There was a 66% growth in the Electric bus market in 2022 according to CALSTART ..further the Electric bus market was US$ 17.41 billion in 2021 and is projected to hit over $50.99 billion by 2030 ..this is a CAGR growth( compound annual growth rate) of 12.7% from 2022 to 2030.
I also quote "The Electric bus market is expected to witness remarkable growth in the near future The electrification of public transport world wide has increased significantly and is expected to grow strongly."
Thus I conclude ..the Electric Bus Industry has a healthy demand ..the company mentioned DOES NOT have a healthy demand FOR ITS PRODUCT...but in line with most industries it is suffering from Supply Constraints driving up costs and final prices limiting its product demand if it cannot make cost cuts else where in their production process....Simply management in this company have failed ...and I quote..."We have faced various Market and Macroeconomic headwinds that have impacted our ability to efficiently scale" ..CEO Gareth Joyce said in a statement...
Demand is there but not at their pricing structure...caused by Supply constraints making them non competitive.
There are many Electric Bus Manufacturers world wide ..it's a competitive industry.
