I completely agree that all of this is subjective, and data is easily filtered to suit one's point of view. More to the point though, you were only interested in encouraging the "negative side" to "give it a rest", while you were happy for the pump crew to selectively filter information to suit their argument.
Your bias shone through by your failure to address the same point with those that you agree with.
