if one does not understand the importance of having compassion towards other sentient beings on this planet, they deserve the self deception that they create for themselves.
the last thing they are going to comprehend is the meaning of life.
the popularity of god is just a reflection of the popularity of ignorance.

perhaps if we respected our neighbour, stranger, enemy, and all other, beings great and small, with the respect that we give to "god", then there would be no need for any concept of god.

god is usually just something that we use to justify our stupidity.

religion that is true to oneself is another matter.
