@Paddywagon1982 @Aquarius11 My point in relation to the PLL offtake is exactly that; there won't be one in a couple of years! There will be no shipping of SC by 2026 for us as the intention is to be producing battery grade carbonate or hydroxide by then using our own spod. This requires even less transport obviously as it is a much higher concentrate/lower volume/tonnage product again.

So my point is for us, SYA, going mid stream for just a couple of years with massive capex requirements when we intend to be an intergrated downstream producer (the holy grail in lithium mining) in North America within 3 years from now would just make no sense to me.

PLS etc are very different, they are not integrated downstream producers, they ship massive bulk spod concentrate huge distances which is absolutely totally inefficient and yes poor from an environmental standpoint particularly, hence why for them a mid stream product is a no brainer imo.

I hope that helps clarify my point/reasoning, it's the obvious option for them but would make no sense for us as in an ideal eventuality we won't be shipping SC at all by 2026.



@Megafauna Getting more saleable product and higher efficiencies out of our ore however is obviously a great advantage and would benefit us immensely, that is an entirely different matter and again is a 'no brainer' if we are able to get useable fines and turn what was previously waste into saleable product or increase the feed into the downstream refinery. More available SC at a higher grade means more downstream battery grade product is possible to refine, therefore considerably more $ to us.
