They entered block 9 to find the source of light crude that had been recovered in the Marti 5 well in 1988, years later in which oil was leaking to surface on its own. The Geos put forth a thesis on how the fold belt geology evolved and the A1 found not only the source, but significantly more than they thought and exactly how they forecast it.
