Construction started on the Kemerton Lithium Hydroxide plant in January 2019.
It started producing lithium hydroxide midway through 2022.
They are still working toward getting everything in sync.
Granted this plant is much bigger than the one planned for Becancour but it is not hard to see that it might take 4 or 5 years to get a new one up to speed.
If that is the case, Ford will be relying on other suppliers for lithium chemicals until well after their CAM plant is built.
