You know, I remember 45 odd years ago looking to buy my first car.
I'd walk into a used car yard and some overweight swarthy older fella with hygiene issues would brush the crumbs off his lap, take his feet off the desk and saunter out to meet me. What would ensue is a fifteen minute spiel where he would tell me the virtues of some clapped out old heap that he's trying to sell for three times its worth. "Never mind the rust, that's just character". "Used to be owned by a little old lady (who liked mag wheels and fat tyres". "I have a good friend that will help with the roadworthy and the finance".
Hmmm, back then I always had the good sense to say "thanks but no thanks'.
But somehow, over the passing years, I'm starting to feel like my BS radar is not what it used to be??
Thought about that after watching some previous AP interviews.
Funny about that.
