what matters for Australia is that the real enemy is still with us ----------- America. And it's hell bent on causing trouble in our backyard still and again.
It's now got it's military bases on Aussie soil - and it's doing it's darndest to make China an enemy.
The problem for Australia is that Australia has been incapable of doing a quality diplomatic dance and keeping America and China as good relationships -
is it fence sitting? yeah, kinda. But it's called diplomacy and it is a far better thing than taking a position which WILL take you to military conflict sooner or later - and these days ----------- this isn't just a few blokes and girls in black pj's --------------- this is with nations who have missiles which can fly a long long long way
Australia has done an atrocious job of foreign relations - there is no way that we should have allowed ourselves to be seen as 'friend' of the USA and 'enemy' of China ------------- and any bullshit that we aren't seeing China as an enemy is just that - it's bullshit.
we have very clearly jumped into bed with the yanks ---------------- and the utter stupidity of that is - in a conflict with china - the USA cannot win
which means - we cannot win. The yanks couldn't even beat Vietnam. How in the name of god would they possibly win over China?
answer - they wouldn't. And for my money - Oz could well be used as a sacrificial pawn here -------- last time, our young men were at risk
