I wouldn't worry about WD. licence or no licence.
Considering 4DS have produced about 150 different wafers. Different wafers equals different metrics.
WD won't want them all, Just the formula to help their products within the market they address.
They do however, have the first right of refusal.
Imagine a recipe book of 150 variables of metrics. PCMO crystallised or standard. We can cater for all fabs on the planet
Could be very beneficial for the winning bidder, and share holders.
