Don't let me stop you beating the PM over the head with a beatstick, mindlessly-partisan polly bashing is pretty much a national pastime. But all politicans fail dismally at this. Not a single politician could know the answers to these questions year-round, and if they did we would all be entitled to be asking why they are wasting time every day being briefed on prices of vegatables, milk, bread, potatoes, fuel, hairdressers, tolls, bus fare, rego, etc instead of actually solving the cost of living problem.
Which fuel? Petrol? Petrol where? What time? What day? Federal pollies fly all over the country, they can be asked these stupid questions at any time.
If you're being honest, do you really want your Prime Minister, no matter who he is, to waste time being briefed on grocery costs, or even worse wasting time shopping for them himself? Do you really think the Prime Minister's perfect and up to date recall of the price of a loaf of bread is going to help him solve the standard of living crisis? Can you name any other politician in the entire chamber who you think knows all these answers?
And in what way do you think the Prmie Minister knowing the price of a dozen eggs is going to be useful to you? How will it serve you? If you could SELECT the Prime Minister - hand picked by you - and put him in charge, do you think he would know? And if he did, what do you think he could do with that information that would help you?
If you want to bash Albanese for being a thickhead go right ahead, but don't use these childish and inane gotcha questions to bolster your argument. They are a pathetic waste of important people's time.
