On behalf of the Province, the Secretary of Mining and Energy, Romina Sassarini, spoke about Salta's mining policy at the 2023 Mining Forum held in Mendoza.

The official's presentation focused on showing the role of Salta in the mining development of the country, emphasizing mining as a State policy of Governor Gustavo Sáenz, and that it represents one of the central pillars of the management.

Likewise, he highlighted the strategic actions that were promoted since 2020, which account for the development of the sector, aligned with the Provincial Plan for Sustainable Mining Development 2030.

He also highlighted the legal certainty and the stable tax regime proposed by the Government of Salta for mining activity.

He pointed out the articulated management between the Mining Court and the Ministry of Mining and Energy as an advisory body to the court, always respecting the independence of the State Powers.

He also explained the bill that seeks to modify article 34 of Law No. 7,141, which aims to optimize the administrative process, from which the holders of mining rights will directly present their environmental and social impact reports to the Authority Minera, providing agility to referrals between the Mining Court and the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

The president of REMSA, Alberto Castillo, also participated in this activity, who referred to the dynamics of the sector and the growth projections expected for the province of Salta.

Likewise, the manager highlighted the public-private articulation with the imposition of important works that will impact the improvement of services and the quality of life of the people of Salta.

The event brought together experts and mining authorities from all the provinces, creating an ideal space to analyze and share the best practices and tools available.

The meeting took place at the Hotel Casino Cóndor de los Andes and also included the participation of the presidents of the Mining commissions of the Chambers of Deputies and Senators of Salta, Lino Yonar, and Sergio Ramos respectively; and the executive director of REMSA, Javier Montero.
