MirCat the Tartar were moved east after WW2 because of their collaboration with the NAZIS in slaughtering the Jewish population of the Crimea. He regarded the Tartars as a security risk so close to the border. Their actions, and not their religion got them moved. Stalin had tried to settle Jewish farmers in Crimea.
