'Millions of people watched Anthony Albanese when he stood at the podium at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club in Sydney and said: “On behalf of the Australian Labor Party, I commit to the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full.”
For those who haven't been paying attention the Statement from the Heart in full means Voice, Treaty (including reparations) & Truth Telling.
So why is the PM not being honest with the electorate & telling them that voting YES means Voice, Treaty (including reparations) & Truth Telling if that is what he supports & that is what the Statement from the Heart / The Voice actually means? To add to that he denies it & calls it scaremongering by the NO campaign when that is what he intends to implement. No wonder Australians don't respect politicians & have a low level of trust in them.
Actually I can answer that because if AA actually stood there & said a YES vote means Voice, Treaty (including reparations) & Truth Telling he'd lose another 10%+ of the electorate. And if he stood there ruled out Treaty (including reparations) he'd also lose another 10%+ of the electorate. Because in reality there is no appetite at all for the advisory only, no power Voice without Treaty (including reparations) & Truth Telling that he's trying to sell & failing to do so. Stuck between a rock & a hard place with a policy that would never work to solve it's stated intentions.
