South Korea has committed £312m of financial aid for Ukraine in 2024 - an eightfold increase on last year.
The aid package, announced earlier this morning as part of the country's 2024 budget, includes £156m in humanitarian aid, £78m in reconstruction and another £78m for international organisations.
President Yoon Suk Yeol also announced an increase in funding for South Korea's Official Development Assistance for strategic areas, including the Asia Pacific region and Africa - from £840m to £1.2bn.
The increase in overseas assistance is part of an effort to help South Korean companies branch out abroad and secure national interests, such as the supply chains, and to take responsibility as a member of the global community, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said in the announcement.
