I'm wondering if some readers can clear up some knowledge gaps for me.
Flumist manufactured by MedImmune is a Live attenuated Influenza Vaccine (LAIV) and is approved for sale in the United States and Canada and it would appear they are planning to ship 15 million doses this year.
Biodiems Nasovac has just been approved in India and it would appear to be a similar LAIV product from the information that I can obtain.
If MediImmune have approval to sell a LAIV product in the USA and canada why can't Biodiem also market in this country. Is the reason that these are identical products and MedImmune has the rights in the North American market, but Nobilon has the rights elsewhere, but hasn't progressed sales?
Does Biodiem only now own the rights to Japan only.
I am finding it difficult to obtain information on who has which rights and which markets are being targeted for the LAIV products. Any help in clearing up my confusion would be greatly appreciated
