I have just changed my 14-15 years old petrol Edge trimmer, did a bit of research and needed buying a petrol one again but you are right, most of the ones for sale today are lithium electric.
What I found out was that even the top of the range lithium electric edge trimmers starting at more than $600 do not have the equivalent power of a 25cc standard ICI, so I ended up with a $300 petrol one.
Another aspect of the lithium Electric tools on the market has limited time usage availability due to the size of the battery which necessitates purchasing a second battery.
One give a way information is when you search the second hand market for lithium tools you can see the reason of the seller for doing so, 'near new but needed to buy a more powerful one!'
One another strange situation as far I am concern is the reference to 18V, 20V or 24V when Voltage is the difference of electrical potential between two points of an electrical or electronic circuit, but I learned a long time ago that power is defined in Watt, hp or cc, now was this to hide something?
