Al. I was just about to start a new thread that I was going to entitle "Follow the rig". Instead I will put up here what I was going to say. CVN doesnt give us much as to what they are doing with the rig,except a pattern of telling us every 2 months (roughly) about the "6" drills they have undertaken since the last update. CVN has become a bit of a one-rig wonder,and its SH get all the drilling news miles after it happens. That is quite a change from the "old" CVN where they gave drilling reports during drilling,etc etc.- a loss to be expected as a company grows quickly (but Beach manages to give a weekly drilling report and its much larger than CVN,though probably,to be fair,it fights on fewer fronts than CVN).And CVN never tells us as to which prospects are viewed as the most promising (about a year ago I put up several posts where I opened with an interview with Jeff Chisholm(POE) and a Canadian newspaper in which he appeared to be talking up the upcoming Bo Rang drill and followed that with a reference by Ted at an oilers conference as to what CVN were currently doing and wherein he "inadvertently" (a simple Freudian slip)mentioned Bo Rang ahead of stuff that we SH knew about. But getting back to the main topic-on the NMS thread the whereabouts of NMSs 2 large undersea maintenance vessels (it does underwater welding and undersea pipeline maintenance) were found by a smart HC poster on a website and you can track where the vessels are. Lately they have been more in port(s) than out of it(i.e. temporarily out of work) and if you had been a SH and watched the website continously you might not have watched your SP as it went from over 80c to under 20c as a consequence of not having info that was actually in the public domain,but not coming from the company. In short,with only one rig in use (ignore the little one) you could easily tell which current prospect the CVN/POE boards view as the hot one by just knowing which prospect is commanding the use of the rig .This is particularly relevant right now as I see WB and L33 as the 2 hot ones-and there is only 1 rig to service both field and several wells needed ,at least at WB. Throw into the pot the certainty that with just 1 rig to service several fields spread over hundreds(?)of square Ks and the need (in order to operate efficiently )to drill several back to back wells every time they shift the rig (what an exercise it must be !) and you would hardly have to wait for the directors to tell you belatedly of what they have been doing and which prospects the saw as the hottest. Yonx ago I had shares in a car assembly company near home and i used to go to the the yard outside the plant exit-on the windscreens were the mnfr. no allocated to each car/chassis so I had advance notice,for example ,as to increases and falloffs in sale of the marque and didnt have to depend on the directors to tell me. It would not be difficult to keep track of cvns rig. Where is it now? How many wells has it drilled there in the current session? What is the name of the rig?- I bet nobody on HC even knows that (just trying to make a point).Is the rig skiddable as it applies to WB terrain? and is it being skidded at the other fields? etc.etc. Where is it going next? which field is going to see several wells drilled while the other languishes? Anybody able to offer us a crumb of hope that might tell us of the rigs position,and changes of position. Maybe I should take a long holiday in Bali,or Phuket,or Bangkok even.
