Simple, if cost of production is lower or marginal for length of time, the producer can mothball/close the mine.
As for lithium market as long as USA, Australia and many western countries keep trying to throttle Chinas' economic development, spot lithium prices will be under pressure until at least all of western countries start buying more EV than China.
Take China's EV market out of equation, Sc6 will have a hard time maintaining $1000 usd SC6 DMT
