Might be in tin foil hat territory here but I wonder if a few brokers manage the process ahead of time by shorting and selling from 43 cents and then buying up everything from 30 cents to 33 cents.
These same brokers then sell the accumulated shares at the after market auction today to the funds who need to take the buy side upon ASX300 entry.
